Our history

Success through continuity

In 1988, Ingeborg and Werner Schad founded SMI – Schad Medical Instruments GmbH in Neuhausen ob Eck, Germany. The company’s continuous growth required a move to larger premises in 1995. This enabled the company to develop into an innovative, expert, and high-quality company.

The company was passed on to the next generation, with its transfer to Florian Stritzel in 2017. In May 2020 the company was renamed SMI – Medical Instruments GmbH & Co. KG. In parallel, the company moved into its new premises at 36 Robert-Bosch-Strasse in Neuhausen ob Eck.
